A Haircut for Bumpa (and Parker)

Parker was due for a haircut, and Gigi and Bumpa were up for the challenge. The best way to get Parker excited about getting his haircut is to give Bumpa a haircut first. It was hilarious to watch how much he got into it to the point of climbing onto Bumpa's lap to get a better view of the top of his head! He then pretended that he was a statue while Gigi cut his hair:)

We spent the weekend down in Corvallis so the kids could dress up for Halloween together. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pics. Parker was Optimus Prime (a Transformer), and Peyton would have been a little bear (we had a little bear suit from when Parker was a baby). Bets, Bella, and Parker had a great time trick-or-treating. Bets and Parker took turns ringing door bells on the homes in Nana and Bubba's neighborhood, and Bella was adorable going up to the doors with the big kids!

Peyton is rapidly growing and developing. I meant to post the results of her 2 month check-up. She is officially following in big brother's footsteps and is off the charts in both height and weight. She was nearly 14 pounds and grew 4 1/2 inches since she was born!! She is filling out 3-6 month clothes nicely and will most likely be in 6-12 month clothing by Christmas. One of the biggest perks of having a big baby is that they tend to sleep through the night early (Parker did not). Peyton has been sleeping 8-12 hours at night for the past week and averaged 6 or 7 since she was about 8 weeks old. We are so thankful for that as having two kids has been quite an adjustment for Nate and I in terms of figuring out how to balance time with the kids at night.

Parker,

You are three years old today! Its so hard to believe that three years have passed since you made your grand appearance in this world. Mommy and Daddy feel so blessed and proud of the boy you have become. You are no longer a baby, but rather an adventurous, passionate, and caring kid with an incredible love of life. You fill us, and those around you, with so much joy, and we hope that you never lose your passion for adventure. What makes us the most proud is that you love God and already have a heart that cares for those around you. We love you so much, birthday boy!! Thanks for being such a great son and big brother!!

8 weeks and almost 3!

Can't believe that Peyton is 8 weeks old! She's in 3-6 month clothes and is getting chubbier by the day. Both kids have check-ups next week, so we're eager to see if she can match her brother in weight and height when he was her age.

Parker will be 3 next week. Our little boy is growing up! He is the sweetest big brother and son, and we get a kick out of the things he says and does each day.

We can't believe that Peyton is almost 6 weeks old already! She has been smiling since about 4 weeks, unlike Parker, who smiled at 6 weeks (and is what books say is "normal"). She tends to be really happy after a good nap and milk and will smile at us when we talk to her. She is easily distracted and very interested in Parker and can't focus very well when he is around. We are loving her (double chin, receding hairline and all) and are amazed at how easily she has transitioned into our lives and become the fourth member of our family.

You may notice that Peyton's forehead appears to be growing in the pictures below! She is losing her baby hair and looks like an old man with her receding hairline. . .kind of sad. I guess I need to buy more headbands and hats for my little girl!!
